Description

Hennepin County Transportation Operations Department, Traffic Division, is conducting a test project for longer-lasting methyl methacrylate (MMA) pavement markings at railroad crossings. The contractor must furnish and install 88 white, spray-applied MMA markings at 51 locations along 26 county state-aid highways in 16 cities, including all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control, and traffic-control supervision. Materials must accept reflective glass beads and corundum, be suitable for application at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, and be approved through product submittals before installation. Work must comply with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction, 2025 Edition, applicable supplements, and Minnesota traffic-control requirements. The contractor must provide at least two qualifying MMA pavement-marking project references from the prior three years; bids without a compliant reference will be deemed nonresponsive. No subcontracting of primary work is allowed, although some subcontracting may be permitted with prior County authorization. The contract period runs from award through December 31, 2027, with all work required to be completed by July 31, 2027, unless extended by mutual agreement. Payment and performance bonds are required if the bid exceeds $175,000.
