Description
The City of Huntsville, Texas is soliciting bids for the restoration and recoating of its half-million-gallon ground storage tank located at 3391 Autumn Road. The project involves comprehensive interior and exterior surface preparation, including abrasive blasting to near-white metal standards (SSPC-SP10) for the interior and commercial blast cleaning (SSPC-SP6) for the exterior. The scope of work includes minor structural repairs, such as welding deep pits and filling shallow ones, and the application of specified multi-coat epoxy and polyurethane systems from approved manufacturers like Tnemec. The interior will receive a three-coat NSF-approved zinc-rich primer and polyamide epoxy system, while the exterior will be coated with a four-coat fluoropolymer urethane system. Strict adherence to environmental regulations, including containment of dust and debris, and specific application requirements for humidity, temperature, and coating thickness are mandated.
