Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) requires haulout, inspection, maintenance, and repair services for the Research Vessel (R/V) Sturgeon, a 104-foot steel research vessel. The work includes hauling, blocking, and launching the vessel; high-pressure washing and visual inspection of the underwater hull; cleaning and inspecting all tanks and voids; inspecting propulsion shafts and propellers; bow thruster inspection and maintenance; rudder inspection; anchor windlass inspection and testing; repair of port wing tank vent; flush water tank coating repairs; installation of hydrophones in stern pockets; servicing crane cylinders and load testing the crane; and final cleaning. Optional work items include painting engine and generator room bilges, installing motorized louvers on intake and exhaust air, and overhauling main engines. The period of performance is approximately November 10, 2026, through April 15, 2027. The place of performance is restricted to shipyards within the Great Lakes basin.
