Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting an unrestricted, firm-fixed-price construction contract to upgrade the Sterile Processing Service and Logistics areas at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. The approximately 12,851-square-foot project includes demolition, new partitions and finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, controls, reverse osmosis, storage equipment, and related systems. Work will be performed in four phases to maintain hospital operations and includes air-handling and air-distribution upgrades, backup-power work, a second cart wash, removal of ethylene oxide abatement equipment, logistics and temporary storage arrangements, and installation or relocation of high-density shelving and other storage equipment. Certain proprietary items, including Avigilon cameras, Johnson Controls fire/HVAC controls, and Chicago Faucets, must be used as specified. The procurement is full and open competition, with a construction magnitude between $10 million and $20 million and a 720-calendar-day period of performance from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The site visit is mandatory for offerors. Amendment 0005 extends the proposal deadline to September 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM local time.
