Description
The Rapid Response Partnership Vehicle (RRPV), under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gather insights into current and emerging high-performance immunoassay technologies for antigen testing in near-patient settings. The goal is to identify technologies that can achieve the sensitivity of Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs), ideally around 1-10 pg/mL, and understand how this performance can be translated into point-of-care or at-home testing formats. BARDA is interested in technologies that can achieve ultra-low limits of detection and high multiplexing capabilities, including miniaturization and system integration strategies for portable devices. They are also interested in continuous monitoring approaches, wearable systems, and advanced sample processing methods. While the focus is on assay platforms and detection technologies, novel assay formats and enabling chemistries that significantly increase sensitivity are of interest. Submissions focused solely on binder generation are outside the scope of this RFI. Respondents are invited to submit a written response by 1:00 PM EDT on July 17, 2026, to rrpv@ati.org. The response should include an organizational overview, a technical overview of the proposed solution (including sensitivity, multiplexing, workflow, maturity, and scalability), and a description of infrastructure and capabilities. Responses should not exceed 5 pages for the technical section and should not include classified information. Non-federal employees may have access to submissions.
