Description
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to modify, on a sole source basis, contract #75F40125C00095 with DNA HIVE to expand the ARGOS database. This expansion will include the deployment of a newer version of the ARGOS instance, the development and deployment of AI and NGS Bioinformatics tools for various applications including pathogen detection, virus genome assembly, and predictive toxicology. Additionally, the project will focus on delivering regulatory-grade reference datasets, integrating FDA into the ARPA-H FEAST network, and providing system installation, maintenance, and user documentation. The modification is a sole source action because DNA HIVE is the only responsible source with the unique qualifications, expertise, and project history required to meet the FDA's needs. The current work under contract #75F40125C00095 has established an operational readiness that would require significant re-work and lead time if another contractor were to be utilized, potentially posing a risk to public health preparedness.
