Description
The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) is issuing a pre-announcement for an upcoming Request for Project Proposals (RPP) that will solicit a wide array of medical prototype technological and knowledge solutions. These solutions are intended to support military operations and readiness across multiple domains. The RPP will cover fourteen distinct focus areas, including policy and practices for cross-cutting prevention, fostering service member physical fitness, identifying and reducing barriers to help-seeking, developing prophylactic solutions for battlefield wound infections, creating pathogen-agnostic countermeasures for sepsis, knowledge products for preventing infection in traumatic wounds, bacterial diarrhea prevention, dengue fever prevention and treatment, prevention and treatment of emerging infectious diseases, musculoskeletal injury treatment, operational suitability of existing pain treatments, repurposing and novel delivery of approved compounds, development of novel non-addictive analgesics, and advanced anesthesia and procedural pain solutions. Proposals must align with only one focus area and meet minimum requirements, including fitting the prototype definition (proof of concept, pilot, novel application of commercial technologies, agile development, etc.) and meeting a minimum Knowledge/Technology Readiness Level (KRL/TRL) of 3. Projects submitted must represent new submissions to MTEC, not having been submitted in the past two years. There is potential for follow-on tasks, which are expected to be awarded non-competitively. The acquisition approach will utilize an Enhanced White Paper process, with selected offerors invited to submit full cost proposals. Teaming among MTEC members is encouraged.
