Description
Université du Québec à Montréal is soliciting proposals for the renovation and modernization of two elevators, RL1 and RL2, at the René-Lévesque university residences. The work includes modernization of the existing JTR controllers; upgrades to emergency operation, accessibility signage, and other components; cabin-finish refurbishment; recovery and reinstallation of selected existing equipment; demolition, protection, repairs, penetrations, finishing, site cleanup, and related work required for complete project delivery. The contractor must maintain safe, continuous access for building occupants while work proceeds, keep one elevator operational while the other is being replaced, avoid simultaneous work on both elevators, and coordinate any service interruptions or work outside normal occupancy hours. The contractor will also be responsible for maintenance and repairs of both elevators throughout the work and must include 12 months of maintenance beginning at final acceptance. During mid-August through mid-September 2027, the elevator under construction must be made available periodically for student move-out activities.
