Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for a firm-fixed-price contract covering preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and 24-hour emergency response for the facility’s vertical transportation systems. The equipment inventory includes 29 elevators, two cart lifts, and two dumbwaiters, including both traction and hydraulic systems. The contractor would provide personnel, equipment, OEM-compliant parts and materials, lubricants, cleaning supplies, supervision, reporting, quality-control planning, inspections, testing, repairs, and emergency response. The scope requires at least one qualified elevator mechanic on site full time during business hours, emergency on-site response within 30 minutes during business hours and within two hours outside business hours, and faster response for entrapment calls. Contractors must possess current Illinois elevator contractor licensing, or an equivalent license, and mechanics must hold current Illinois elevator mechanic licenses or equivalents. This is a sources-sought notice rather than a solicitation; responses should include organizational information and a tailored capability statement. The requirement may later be set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
