Description
The City of Zion is soliciting sealed bids for the 2026 Zion Sidewalk Project Phase Two, an as-needed concrete construction project involving removal of existing concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk; installation of combination concrete curb and gutter; and construction of five- and six-inch concrete sidewalks on compacted aggregate bases throughout multiple city blocks. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, excavation, restoration, traffic control, and related services. The schedule of prices identifies approximately 6,000 square feet of sidewalk removal, 4,500 square feet of five-inch sidewalk, and 1,500 square feet of six-inch sidewalk, along with curb and gutter work. The successful bidder will be responsible for work requested throughout a calendar year beginning at award, with individual work to be completed within 45 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. The solicitation requires a completed bid proposal and related certifications, a 5% bid guarantee, proof of insurability, compliance with federal CDBG, Davis-Bacon, prevailing-wage, Section 3, and other labor standards, and performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount upon award. The contract is contingent on receipt of Lake County Community Development Block Grant funds.
