Description

The University of Utah's U Facilities is conducting an open-ended Stage I prequalification for electrical, general campus, general hospital, hazmat/abatement/demo, mechanical, paving, roofing, and site/civil contractors. Prequalified contractors may later bid on Stage II capital improvement projects at various Utah locations, generally with construction budgets under $3,500,000. Contractors seeking multiple disciplines must submit a separate SOQ packet for each discipline. Applicants must submit the required U Facilities forms, including contractor information, a statement of qualifications and experience, termination or debarment certification, bonding-capacity verification completed by a surety, a power of attorney, a current contractor license, and performance references. Hazmat applicants must also provide specified asbestos, lead-based-paint, worker, project-designer, and pollution-liability documentation. The SOQ packet is evaluated on completeness, performance references, and qualifications and experience; contractors must achieve at least 80 total points and a minimum 4.00 average performance rating. Prequalification is effective January 1, 2027, remains valid for 18 months, and may be renewed.
