Description
The City of Shafter is soliciting sealed bids for the Highway 43 Pipeline Relocation Project (PW2026-05). The work includes relocating domestic water infrastructure, furnishing and installing approximately 268 linear feet of 8-inch DR18 C900 PVC pipe and 72 linear feet of 12-inch restrained-joint ductile iron pipe, valves, air-release and blow-off assemblies, a fire hydrant, water-service connections, thrust blocks, restraints, tracer wire, locating tape, testing, flushing, and disinfection. The project also includes a 24-inch steel-cased crossing beneath Santa Fe Way using the jack-and-bore method, boring and receiving pits, casing spacers, end seals, vents, test stations, excavation, shoring, backfill, and pavement restoration. Additional work includes raising an existing sewer manhole to roadway grade, utility locating and potholing, asphalt pavement and aggregate-base replacement, traffic control, permits, prevailing-wage compliance, certified payroll, contractor licensing, insurance, and required bid security. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds after award and complete the work within 45 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
