Description
The Village of Southampton is soliciting a single-prime contractor for the complete replacement of the existing limited-use, limited-application (LULA) elevator at the Village Police Station. The work includes removal and legal disposal of the existing elevator, hoistway doors and frames, machine-room equipment, hydraulic piping, controls, and associated electrical components; preparation and repair of surrounding construction; and installation of a new ADA-compliant hydraulic LULA elevator serving three levels. The specified basis of design is a Savaria Orion hydraulic LULA, with a 1,400-pound rated load, approximately 30 feet per minute speed, 24-foot travel, three stops, fire-rated doors, ADA controls, emergency lowering and communication features, and coordination with fire alarm and building systems. The scope also includes electrical power, controls, grounding, disconnects, fire alarm interfaces, firestopping, interior finish repairs and painting, testing and inspections, record documents, owner training, and maintenance service. The successful contractor must comply with New York prevailing-wage requirements, provide relevant experience and references, submit required certifications and qualification information, and furnish bid, performance, payment, and maintenance security as specified. The contract has a four-month completion period from execution, with a possible extension of up to one year by agreement.
