Millburn Township is considering Ordinance No. 2767-26, which would amend its ordinance governing the employment of off-duty township police officers for police-related activities. The ordinance updates compensation rates for traffic direction and security functions, including higher rates for nighttime, Sunday, state-holiday, late-scheduled, and extended activities. It also revises the nonrefundable administrative fee to $10 per hour and the patrol-car fee to $20 per hour of police-related activity. The ordinance addresses invoicing, payment timing, escrow requirements for regular or continuous services, officer acknowledgment, and the potential use of a secondary service provider to administer scheduling, invoicing, escrow, and payments.
