Description

Alameda County’s General Services Agency is soliciting a turnkey prime contractor to modernize three existing commercial traction passenger elevators at its Administration Building. The scope includes new or refurbished drive machinery, controllers, hoistway and car equipment, doors and door operators, signal and accessibility systems, electrical work, machine-room HVAC, fire alarm and life-safety modifications, patching, painting, permits, testing, inspections, and related building work required for a complete code-compliant installation. The base bid also includes a $40,000 per-car cab-interior allowance and an allowance for 100 hours of maintenance service calls. The contractor must provide elevator maintenance beginning upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and through the 12-month warranty period, including routine inspections, emergency response, testing, reporting, parts, and warranty maintenance. The project includes asbestos-containing-material removal and lead-hazard controls where required, prevailing-wage and public-works compliance, a project stabilization/community benefits agreement, and use of licensed C-11 elevator contractors. The estimated budget is approximately $1,975,000, with a 540-calendar-day contract period beginning January 29, 2027.
