Description
The California Department of Transportation seeks on-call services for assessing, sampling, characterizing, packaging, collecting, transporting, and legally disposing of or recycling hazardous, regulated, universal, and biological waste. The scope includes laboratory-packed waste, lab testing, cleanup, roadside biohazard response, manifests and other waste documentation, and guidance on waste handling. Services are requested through service requests, with routine work generally due within five working days and urgent work affecting public health, safety, or welfare due within four hours of notice. The contractor must provide trained personnel, vehicles, equipment, packaging, and disposal or recycling arrangements. The bid schedule includes labor, equipment, disposal and recycling by waste type, and containers such as steel and plastic drums and sharps containers. The solicitation requires numerous current licenses, registrations, and hazardous-material certifications. Subcontracting is permitted only for laboratory services.
