Description

Greenville County Schools is soliciting a sealed proposal for construction of synthetic turf athletic fields at four sites: Carolina High School, Greer High School, J.L. Mann Athletic Complex, and Mauldin High School. The work includes demolition of existing natural grass fields and related items; subgrade preparation, grading, engineered fill, aggregate base, geotextile fabric, drainage systems, resilient underlayment, synthetic turf, organic wood infill, field striping, and athletic equipment. The projects also include concrete field curbs and paving, black vinyl chain-link fencing and gates, safety netting, erosion and sediment controls, utility coordination, and restoration of disturbed areas. The specifications require contractor-provided testing, shop drawings, as-built documents, maintenance materials and manuals, an eight-year synthetic turf system warranty, and performance testing for permeability, shock attenuation, G-max, and head injury criteria. Performance and payment bonds are required for the full contract amount, and the contractor must provide specified insurance coverage and comply with South Carolina licensing and permitting requirements.
