Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for fully automated, FDA-approved gel electrophoresis instrumentation capable of serum and urine protein electrophoresis, serum and urine immunofixation, and immunotyping. The requirement includes new equipment, ancillary equipment, printer and interface components, reagents, calibrators, controls, consumables, and estimated testing quantities. The proposed systems must support barcode identification, bidirectional laboratory information system interfacing, data backup, quality control, reporting, and operation within the laboratory's available space. The contractor would also provide installation, implementation within 90 days after award, method validation and comparison studies, acceptance testing, operator training, preventive maintenance, emergency repair, telephone and onsite technical support, equipment and software upgrades, waste-stream characterization and documentation, and ongoing supplies. The anticipated contract structure is one base year plus four option years. Responses to this Sources Sought notice must include company information, a point of contact, UEI or DUNS number, socioeconomic status, and a capability statement; no contract will be awarded from this notice.
