Description
The City of Buffalo, Department of Public Works (DPW) Division of Engineering, is requesting proposals for professional services (Group 1139) to design intersection improvements along Tonawanda Street near Riverside Park. This project is funded by the New York State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) and aims to enhance safety, accessibility, connectivity, reduce speed, improve wayfinding, and incorporate transit, bicycle facilities, and pedestrian traffic signals. The specific intersections to be addressed are along Tonawanda Street near Riverside Park, including those with Crowley Avenue, Esser Avenue, Roesch Avenue, and Vulcan Street. These improvements are intended to enhance access to Riverside Park and its connection to regional waterfront trails. The project includes tasks such as data collection, analysis, schematic design, public meetings, preliminary design, and final reporting, with a strong emphasis on community involvement and MWBE participation goals. The contract has an estimated value of $123,288 and is anticipated to be completed by August 31, 2029. Proposals are due by July 1, 2026, and will be evaluated based on criteria including the cover letter, project management approach, firm description, proposed team, fee schedule, and minority/female employment and business opportunities.
