Description
Rockdale County is soliciting a contractor to inspect assigned sites and provide fire ant mound identification, routine treatments, and emergency spot treatments at county-owned properties, including athletic fields, playgrounds, high-traffic areas, and other public recreation facilities. Services must use EPA-approved insecticides labeled for fire ant control and comply with applicable federal, state, local, EPA, OSHA, and environmental requirements. The contractor must coordinate scheduling with Parks and Recreation staff, treat during low-use periods when possible, provide special attention before games and seasons, and perform emergency treatments within 48 hours of County notification. Routine applications are required at least seven weeks apart during the March-December peak season, with no-cost retreatment required when infestations persist within 10-14 days. The contractor must supply all labor, equipment, materials, and chemicals; employ licensed pesticide applicators; hold required state pesticide application licenses; provide Safety Data Sheets, required signage, advance monthly schedules, delay notifications, and service reports documenting dates, locations, treatments, observations, and recommendations. Bidders must provide pricing for routine and emergency treatments, identify subcontractors if applicable, submit at least three similar-project references, and provide a current business license. An Integrated Pest Management approach may receive preference. The contract term is one year with two additional one-year renewal options.
