Description
The U.S. Army is conducting a Sources Sought market survey—not a request for proposals or an award opportunity—to identify National Technology Industrial Base sources capable of manufacturing and delivering 155mm artillery cannister assemblies. The assembly consists of a 4140 steel payload canister, a 7075-T6 aluminum payload cover, and two AISI S2 or S7 tool-steel clocking keys. Components require specified dimensions, hardness, surface finishes, corrosion-protection coatings, and dimensional quality controls. Interested sources must describe their manufacturing, machining, forging, heat-treatment, welding, nondestructive-testing, inspection, phosphating, painting, protective-coating, quality-management, facilities, personnel, production-capacity, lead-time, delivery, and partnering capabilities. Responses must also include relevant artillery or similar metal-parts experience from the last 10 years and projected production capability. The Government seeks production capacity of at least 450 assemblies annually by October 2027, 1,000 annually by March 2028, and 10,000 annually by January 2031. Interested sources may request the Distribution D technical data package by submitting the required technical-data forms and agreement.
