Description

Ben Franklin Transit seeks a modular family of prefabricated bus shelters in multiple sizes and standard and narrow-footprint configurations. The contractor must design, engineer, fabricate, and deliver the shelters, including structural framing, roofing, glazing, anti-graffiti protection, concealed wiring pathways, installation hardware, and ground anchors. Designs must be prepared by a registered architect and structurally engineered, comply with applicable accessibility and building codes, and provide durable protection from weather, vandalism, and corrosion. The shelters must be shipped individually in knock-down form, with drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, parts lists, and installation information. Optional items include benches, lean rails, trash receptacles, bicycle racks and repair stations, solar power, lighting, map or timetable cases, and mounting systems for real-time passenger information displays. The initial purchase is at least 10 shelters, with additional orders possible during a one-year initial term and up to four one-year extensions. The total contract amount is capped at $950,000, and the initial order is due within 120 calendar days after notice to proceed. The proposal must include a cover letter, firm experience information, applicable support materials, references for at least three and up to six recent similar projects, a completed cost proposal, and the required vendor questionnaire and forms.
