Description
The Colorado Department of Transportation seeks a general contractor for design/bid/build construction of an approximately 10,000-square-foot, 9+1-bay vehicle storage facility. The pre-engineered metal building will include nine vehicle storage bays, two wash bays, an administrative area with a mezzanine, offices, and restrooms. Work includes foundations and concrete slabs, site grading and paving, utilities, fencing and gates, building systems and equipment, and a 25 kW rooftop photovoltaic system. Existing maintenance-yard operations must remain accessible during construction. The bid includes an optional demolition scope for two existing garage buildings and a shed, and an optional EV-charging scope that includes a ChargePoint CP6000 dual-port charger and installation. The contractor must meet minimum qualification requirements, including two recent general-contracting projects each exceeding $4.5 million, similar-scope experience, and demonstrated bonding capacity up to $4.5 million. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required. Bid security of at least 5% is required when the bid is $50,000 or more; performance and labor-and-material bonds are required for awards over $150,000. Prevailing-wage requirements apply.
