Description
The Town seeks a contractor to furnish and install steel channel bracing, angle clips, shear tabs, base plates, bar-joist bracing, anchors, and connections to stabilize an existing third-floor masonry wall. Work includes field verification, shop drawings and product data, permits and inspections, protection of existing construction and plant operations, and cleanup. The plant must remain operational, and the contractor must prevent material, dust, or debris from entering the second-floor lab. Work is restricted to operating hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The attached engineering drawings govern technical requirements; substitutions require advance written approval through the question process. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting and submit a signed cover sheet, bid form, Virginia business-authority information, contractor license, sample certificate of insurance, references, project manager information, material lead time, and a plant-protection statement. Award is to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contract is lump sum, with substantial completion due by May 31, 2027, and final completion within 30 calendar days thereafter.
