Description
The Town of Stanley is soliciting sealed, unit-price bids for replacement of existing galvanized water mains with approximately 4,640 linear feet of 2-inch SDR 13.5 PVC water main and 440 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main. The work includes horizontal punching beneath surface features, fire hydrants, gate valves, blow-offs, fittings, appurtenances, 3/4-inch copper water service lines and connections, abandonment of existing mains and valves, tapping saddles, sleeves, and valves, erosion control, select backfill, rock excavation, and restoration of seeding, driveways, and pavement. Bidders must be licensed North Carolina contractors, and subcontractors must also be licensed in North Carolina. A 5 percent bid security is required, and the successful bidder must provide construction performance and payment bonds. Bidders must make a good-faith effort to meet a combined 10 percent minority business participation goal and identify the associated efforts and participating minority business enterprises.
