Description
Champaign County is soliciting sealed bids for a single-prime renovation of Courtroom F at the Champaign County Courthouse. The work includes selective demolition and salvage or reinstallation of existing elements; construction of partitions to create two acoustically separate, functional courtrooms and a secured entry; new courtroom doors, millwork, paneling, carpet, paint, wall covering, ceilings, and other finishes; and modifications to HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire protection, and related systems. The project also includes removal and replacement of select interior systems, finishes, and components, with construction coordinated around the court schedule and noise-generating work generally limited to weekday mornings, weekday afternoons, or weekends unless advance permission is obtained. Bidders must submit the provided bid forms and include bid security of at least 10 percent of the bid proposal, including alternates. A performance bond equal to 100 percent of the Contract Sum is required after award. The project is subject to Illinois prevailing-wage requirements and requires a Project Labor Agreement. The bid form states substantial completion by April 9, 2027, provided the contractor receives notice to proceed by September 2, 2026.
