Description
The City of Champaign, through its Fire Department, seeks two custom-built triple-combination pumper fire engines. Each apparatus must be designed for extreme-duty municipal fire service and include a custom four-door chassis, integrated cab and body, 500-gallon water tank, 1,500-gallon-per-minute Waterous pump, top-mounted pump controls, hosebeds, rescue-style compartments, ladders, emergency warning systems, communications and camera systems, and other equipment specified in the solicitation. The apparatus must comply with applicable NFPA 1900 requirements except for identified departmental exceptions, and bidders must provide detailed manufacturer specifications in the same sequence as the advertised specifications, including all deviations and supporting equivalency documentation. The first apparatus is preferred for delivery no earlier than July 1, 2027, and the second no earlier than July 1, 2028. The selected vendor must provide service and warranty support, manufacturer documentation, certifications, warranties, and a 100% payment and performance bond if required by the agreement. The proposal must also address five comparable references, insurance, proposal security, diversity and workforce participation requirements, and the required City forms and affidavits.
