Cumberland County seeks a single-prime cooling-tower manufacturer representative to provide turnkey rebuilding of two BAC cooling towers, model FXV-LQ661, at the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Courthouse. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, crane, rigging, trucking, dumpsters, permits, inspections, site protection, and cleanup. Work includes replacement of PVC fill and drift eliminators, louvers and supports, water diverters, distribution nozzles and related hardware, fan shafts, bushings, bearings, sheaves, belts, motor adjustment rods, longitudinal channel members, and wetted-area casing coatings; cleaning, alignment, testing, adjusting, balancing, startup, and a 12-month parts-and-labor warranty are also required. An additive alternate covers replacement of the actuator damper system. The contractor must be in good standing with the original equipment manufacturer, be located within 120 miles of the project site, have at least five years of cooling-tower-rebuild experience, and be able to provide five past-project references. A full-time onsite project manager, factory-trained technicians, emergency service within 24 hours, and two hours of owner training are required. Work must be coordinated during normal business hours, with cooling-tower outages limited to one unit at a time and approved at least two weeks in advance. The contractor must commence within 120 days of award and complete the work within 60 days after commencement, and the project must be completed before June 30, 2027.
