Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture requires three new 4-ton water chillers for three independent recirculating aquaculture systems supporting Atlantic salmon research. Each chiller must have a nominal cooling capacity of 4 tons (48,000 BTU/hr or 14 kW) without exceeding that capacity; operate at 460V, three-phase power; use a PVC shell with a titanium coil; include a digital temperature controller with adjustable setpoint, phase-monitor protection, and pre-charged refrigerant; and be configured as a split chiller with the condensing unit outside and heat exchanger inside the building. The contractor must provide delivery FOB destination within 60 days after award, instruction manuals and startup documentation, and a standard warranty of at least one year. Equipment must be made in America and delivered to the specified aquaculture center. Quotations must include pricing for all line items, demonstrate schedule compliance, and provide sufficient product information to establish technical acceptability. Award is anticipated as a firm-fixed-price purchase order using a lowest-price-technically-acceptable evaluation.
