Chapel Hill Independent School District is soliciting proposals for the tear-out, disposal, purchase, delivery, and installation of one walk-in freezer/cooler combination at Kissam Intermediate School. The two compartments are specified at approximately 23 feet 7 inches deep by 24 feet 9 inches wide by 8 feet 4 inches high, with operating temperatures of +35°F for the cooler and -10°F for the freezer. The system must include insulated Galvalume construction, heated safety doors, refrigeration and condensing equipment meeting or exceeding the listed specifications, vapor-proof LED lighting, a heated pressure-relief vent, an interior floor ramp, covered base, outside bottom angle, and a common dividing wall. The awarded contractor must remove the existing unit, deliver and install the replacement, remove crating and debris, and complete invoicing by January 1, 2027. Proposals are evaluated on cost, compliance with specifications, completion timeline, solution quality, prior experience with the district, and provider references. The proposal requires three references for the same type of goods, equipment brand and model information, responses to vendor qualifications and compliance questions, pricing for labor and materials, and the specified vendor forms and certifications.
