Description
The City of Palestine is soliciting proposals for the replacement of approximately 2,500 linear feet of 6-inch C900 water line on E. Neches Street. The scope includes installing multiple water service lines, six fire hydrants with valves, 19 valves, tracer wire, a 6-inch wet tap, concrete valve-box pads, and water-line connections; abandoning and capping existing mains; removing existing hydrants, meters, and meter boxes; and installing the line beneath culverts where required. The contractor must provide the labor, equipment, testing, and incidental materials identified as its responsibility, including Bac-T sampling, compaction testing to 95 percent at intervals selected by City staff, saw cutting, notification of affected residents and businesses, grass restoration, and warranty information. Proposers must visit the project site with City staff before submitting a proposal. The award will be based on best value, considering price, service approach, schedule, references, prior governmental work, and long-term cost.
