Winona Independent School District (ISD) is announcing its intent to apply for federal grant funds under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other programs for the 2021-2022 school year. The grants include Title I, A ($533,126) for teacher preparation, closing achievement gaps, and parental involvement; Title I, C ($2,350) for migratory student support; Title II, A ($71,816) for teacher and principal quality; Title III, ELA ($16,811) for English learner proficiency; Title IV, A ($21,990) for well-rounded education, safety, and technology; Carl D. Perkins V ($28,873) for career and technical education; and ARP Act ESSER III ($4,000,701) for addressing learning loss and school reopening. Planned expenditures include professional learning, technology programs, accelerated instruction, enrichment, school safety, and facility improvements.
