Alta Planning + Design, in partnership with GPI Inc., has submitted a proposal to the Hampton School District (SAU 90) to develop a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Travel Plan for the Town of Hampton, New Hampshire. The project focuses on three schools within the town (excluding Winnacunnet High School) and aims to enhance safety for students walking and bicycling to school while increasing participation. The scope includes infrastructure improvements such as sidewalks, roadway geometry, crosswalks, paths, and bicycle facilities, as well as programs related to education, encouragement, evaluation, and enforcement (the "Four E's"). Key tasks include kick-off and committee meetings, public meetings, infrastructure recommendations (with concept-level designs and cost estimates for five priority projects), Four E's program recommendations, and a final Travel Plan report. The work will adhere to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation's Local Public Agency Manual.
