Description
El Monte City School District is soliciting a lump-sum construction bid for the Rio Hondo Elementary School HVAC Replacement Project at campus Buildings A, B, C, D, E, F, G, K, and T. The work includes complete removal of the existing variable refrigerant flow heating and cooling system and installation of 33 owner-furnished, individual 5-ton air-source split heat pump systems. Each system includes a ceiling-mounted fan coil unit and a ground-mounted outdoor condensing unit. The contractor must provide all installation labor and all components, equipment, and materials other than the District-furnished HVAC equipment. The scope includes ductwork and air distribution, controls and thermostats, refrigerant and condensate piping, electrical connections, equipment supports, insulation, testing, adjusting and balancing, commissioning, demolition, concrete and finish repairs, ceiling work, painting, and related construction. The engineer's estimate lists a total probable project cost of $8,144,017, but states that it is not a guaranteed award amount. The project requires a California Class B contractor's license, Department of Industrial Relations public-works registration, a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit, electronic submission through PlanetBids, and a 10% bid bond.
