Description
This solicitation is for the rental of a prime-rated generator and associated transfer switch to provide continuous temporary power for the San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor's Office. The existing main electrical power has been shut down since November 2025, and the current standby generator is only suitable for short outages. The rental is expected to last several months until the replacement of the main outdoor switchgear is complete. The contractor will be responsible for providing a 300KW, 277/480V or 4160V prime generator, or an alternate power source, capable of supporting the full building load. The generator must be capable of at least 48 hours of runtime before refueling and will alternate with the government-owned standby generator during maintenance or failure of the prime generator. The rental includes connection, maintenance, and 24-hour support. The contractor is also responsible for acquiring all necessary permits, including Air District permits, CARB PERP registration, and local building/electrical permits. All electrical work must comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, Cal/OSHA, NFPA 110, and CARB standards, and must be performed by a licensed professional.
