Description
The City of Sunland Park is requesting professional engineering and landscape design services for flood-control improvements at the Edgemont Pond. The scope includes topographic and boundary surveys, geotechnical investigations, soil percolation testing, subsurface utility investigations, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, FEMA Letter of Map Revision coordination, environmental coordination, public engagement, and evaluation of a preferred flood-control alternative. The design is intended to address the 100-year storm through flood-control ponds, stabilized slopes, grade-control structures, and related drainage improvements. Deliverables include 30%, 60%, and 90% design submissions, followed by final signed and sealed plans, specifications, and an engineer's estimate suitable for construction bidding. The project also targets pond drainage within 96 hours and reduction of downstream flooding, erosion, sediment, debris, and spillway-failure risks while incorporating water-quality and compatible recreational benefits.
