Description
This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is for Phase I of the Varina on the James historic building restoration project, located at 3151 Varina on the James, Richmond, VA 23231. The scope of work includes extensive brick masonry repairs such as repointing and cleaning, replacement of damaged wood rafter framing and structural framing, and repair and refinishing of wood lintels, sills, and trim at historic windows. Additional work involves repairing and refinishing existing wood windows and doors, replacing copper gutters and downspouts, modifying roof framing, and performing selected roof replacements. Interior tasks for Phase I will focus on demolition and targeted wood framing repairs. The project also includes demolition of existing porches, construction of new porches, termite soil treatment, and replacement of the existing concrete vault cap. This ITB is exclusively for contractors who were prequalified through the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 26-2934-2JOK, issued on February 18, 2026. Prequalification status was communicated on May 27, 2026. Only prequalified bidders may submit bids.
