Description
The City of Scranton is soliciting a contractor to repair approximately 90 linear feet of modular block retaining wall at 235 East Mountain Road. The work includes replacing the damaged top one to two courses of block and capstones to match the existing wall, replacing approximately 90 linear feet of top-mounted powder-coated black Schedule 40 steel pipe handrailing with a top rail, two intermediate rails, and vertical posts, replacing one set of stone steps, and repairing one set of damaged concrete steps. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, traffic control, pedestrian protection, access maintenance, debris disposal, and related work necessary for a complete project. The solicitation requires a minimum of five years of experience under the bidder's current business name, a 10 percent bid bond with the bid, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract amount at award. The contract remains in effect through satisfactory completion, with substantial completion required within 40 days after the Contract Times commence and final completion within 48 days. Pennsylvania prevailing-wage requirements apply.
