Description
The Davidson County School System is soliciting bids for a single-prime mechanical contractor to provide labor, material, and equipment for renovations at five schools: East Davidson High School, Brown Middle School, South Davidson High School, Southwood Elementary School, and Northwest Elementary School. All proposals must be submitted as a lump sum. A mandatory pre-bid meeting for all interested bidders and vendors will be held on June 17, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM. The meeting will commence outside the main office building at East Davidson High School, followed by Brown Middle School, South Davidson High School, Southwood Elementary School, and Northwest Elementary School, respectively. Project-specific questions, bidding procedures, preferred brand alternates, performance specifications, and HUB information will be addressed during this meeting. Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents are available for inspection at the office of Consultant Engineering Service, Inc. Electronic copies can be obtained by emailing lindsey@cesengnet. Bidders must use complete sets of documents; the Owner and Engineer are not responsible for errors due to incomplete sets. Contractors must possess the proper state licenses for their respective trades. Bidders must identify minority business participation on their bid proposal forms; failure to do so may result in bid rejection. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid deposit or certified check of at least five percent (5%) of the proposal amount, or a five percent (5%) bid bond from a North Carolina-licensed surety company. A performance bond and a payment bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, will be required. Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates, with final payment upon completion and acceptance. Bids cannot be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the closing time. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities.
