Description
The Town of East Hartford is soliciting an on-call contractor for low-voltage data and communication cabling work for the Town and East Hartford Public Schools. The scope includes copper and fiber-optic cable installation, patch panels, terminations, building supplies, firestopping, sleeves, labeling, emergency call-outs, and regular- and off-hours labor. All fiber and copper runs must be certified, with certification results provided as a PDF or printed document; fiber work requires full OTDR reports detailing loss. The contractor must obtain required permits, coordinate inspections, correct failed or nonconforming work at no additional cost, and provide three references for municipal or educational clients. The contract is for five years from inception or until a maximum value of $175,000, whichever occurs first. The awarded contractor must maintain specified insurance, including general liability, workers’ compensation, automobile liability, umbrella liability, and cyber liability/technology errors and omissions coverage. Subcontractors may be used for specialty work only with the Town’s prior written approval.
