Description
The County seeks a contractor to remove and dispose of the existing asphalt shingles at two fire stations, replace damaged roof sheathing, update sheathing nailing to current code, and install self-adhering underlayment and engineered standing-seam metal roof panels. The work also includes new flashing, ridge and hip caps, vent stacks, and reinstalling gutters as needed, along with debris removal and daily cleanup. The metal roof system must include an industry warranty of at least 20 years for wear and water intrusion. The contractor must coordinate work to keep the fire stations fully operational and ensure emergency vehicle access is not impeded. Bidders must hold a Florida state-certified or state-registered roofing license and an Indian River County Building Division roofing license. A 5% electronic bid bond is required for bids over $200,000; a public construction bond is required after award if the total award exceeds $200,000.
