Description
The City of Albany is seeking a qualified and experienced recruitment firm to identify a new Police Chief. The selected contractor will develop the recruitment plan, candidate profile, advertising and outreach strategy; conduct national and individualized outreach; accept and screen applications; contact candidates nominated by City stakeholders; and recommend a diverse pool of no more than four qualified candidates for interviews. The contractor will coordinate and guide candidate interviews, communicate with unsuccessful candidates as requested, and conduct background checks and verify work history, qualifications, and credentials before presenting candidates to the City. Proposals must address the recruitment approach, project team, timeline, relevant experience, references, pricing, and required certifications. The recruitment is intended to support a Police Chief start date of March 1, 2027, with services beginning upon contract execution or October 1, 2026, as specified in the RFP.
