Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is soliciting a firm-fixed-price purchase order for one Westrup LA-LS air screen seed cleaner, or equal, under a total small business set-aside. The equipment must clean multiple seed crops and separate weed seed, other crop seed, soil, and inert material from samples. Required features include two screens, adjustable screen oscillation, air speed/volume and hopper feeding speed, multiple outlets for sieving and seed refining, light-seed and clean-seed outlets, an aspirated chaff cyclone, an extended hopper, and an enclosed air column to reduce material loss and cleanup between samples. The quotation must include pricing for the seed cleaner, delivery/transportation, and any tariff. The government intends to make one award and will evaluate quotations for technical capability, schedule compliance, price reasonableness, and acceptable or neutral past performance. Delivery is required 120 days after award. The preferred product is manufactured by Westrup in Denmark and is available through U.S. distributors; brand-name-or-equal offers may be considered if they meet the stated salient characteristics and provide access to parts and professional service within three days.
