Description
Nevada County is seeking Statements of Qualifications from appropriately registered engineering firms to design the replacement of the single-lane, load-restricted Rock Creek Road at Rock Creek Bridge, structure 17C0057. The selected consultant will evaluate replacement and construction-staging alternatives that avoid a detour or extended road closure, analyze hydraulic effects and existing abutments, and produce fully permitted, bid-ready plans, specifications, and estimates for the new two-lane bridge and approach roads. The scope includes project management; bridge, roadway, structural, foundation, hydraulic, hydrologic, geotechnical, surveying, right-of-way, environmental, permitting, utility coordination, property-acquisition support, value engineering, constructability review, bidding support, and construction support. The consultant must provide progress reports, 30-, 60-, 90-, and 100-percent design submittals, an audited FAR-compliant overhead rate, and consideration of disadvantaged business enterprise firms; the stated contract DBE goal is 0%. The project has $350,000 in allocated preliminary-engineering funds. Proposals require qualifications, related experience and references, team qualifications, a project plan, required statements, exceptions, and a separately sealed fee schedule.
