Description
The Mount Joy Borough Authority is soliciting a general construction contractor for rehabilitation of the Rapho Tank. The work includes abrasive blasting and application of a new epoxy coating system to the tank interior, exterior surface preparation and epoxy/urethane overcoat system, concrete foundation repairs, and modifications to exterior access components, including the ground-to-roof access, roof-to-shell landing, handrails, ladder extension, aluminum platform, and related supports. The contract also includes contingency-priced interior pit-weld and seam-weld repairs, valve-vault pipe coating, dehumidification and heating during blasting, coating, and curing, cleaning and disinfection, testing, environmental containment, waste handling, safety compliance, and associated construction controls. The contractor must complete at least 50 percent of the work with its own forces, use qualified tank-painting and welding personnel, and substantially complete the project within 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. A 10 percent bid security is required, and the successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price.
