Description
The City of Salem is soliciting a lump-sum bid for the safe removal of lead-based paint and repainting of the north and south exterior fire escapes, associated doors, and trim at Salem City Hall. The contractor must provide labor, supervision, materials, access equipment, containment, testing, transportation, waste disposal, and all required lead-abatement procedures. Metal surfaces must be prepared to bare metal and wood surfaces to a sound surface, followed by one primer coat and two exterior finish coats. The work includes containment, compliant waste handling, cleanup, coordination with repairs performed by others, and remobilization after those repairs. Bidders must hold the appropriate Virginia contractor license and all required lead-related licenses and certifications. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the total lump-sum price. The project is a one-time contract, with work beginning within 30 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
