The York County Solid Waste Authority Tour Scholarship Program provides funding for 100 percent of eligible school bus or van transportation costs for York County students in grades 1–12 to visit either the York County Resource Recovery Center or the Hopewell Area Recreation Complex. Applicants must attend public, private, cyber, or home schools in York County, and each field trip may accommodate up to 60 participants, including chaperones. Recipients must complete and submit an environmental-management project within one month after the tour. The application requires school, teacher, participant, tour-location, scheduling, estimated transportation-cost, and project information, along with a teacher signature. Applications are considered in the order received; sponsored tours must occur during calendar year 2027, and Hopewell Area Recreation Complex tours must occur between March 30 and November 20, 2027.
