Description
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) is seeking bids for a contractor to load, transport, and deploy concrete materials, including culverts, poles, and modules, from their staging site in Gulfport, Mississippi, to multiple artificial reef sites located 20-26 miles south of Pascagoula. The project involves loading materials onto barges with a minimum carrying capacity of 800 tons each, transporting them to predetermined reef locations, and deploying them to create or enhance existing reefs. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, equipment (cranes, lift barges), and transportation necessary for the operation, as well as retrieving any debris expelled during deployment. The work is expected to be completed within 30 days once started, and all deployment activities must occur Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., avoiding weekends, state, and federal holidays, and any Small Craft Advisory or greater weather conditions. The contract will be for an initial one-year term with the option to renew for one additional year.
