Description
Lake County Water Authority is seeking an attorney or law firm to provide continuing, on-call legal services, including legal advice to the Board of Trustees and Executive Director; attendance at meetings; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, leases, licenses, resolutions, ordinances, and policies; legal research, memoranda, opinions, and recommendations; and advice concerning public records, Sunshine Law, ethics, procurement, employment, land use, zoning, planning, permitting, code enforcement, and compliance with federal, state, and local law. The scope also includes real estate, easement, right-of-way, property acquisition, and surplus-property matters; representation in civil litigation, administrative proceedings, appeals, and pre-suit matters; monitoring legal developments; and coordination with consultants, insurers, other counsel, and risk-management personnel. Attorneys performing the work must have demonstrated local-government, county-government, or public-sector experience and must be licensed and in good standing with The Florida Bar. The contract is an indefinite-quantity arrangement with no guaranteed volume or expenditure, and pricing is based on submitted hourly rates and itemized fees or expenses.
