Description
The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is soliciting statements of qualifications from New Jersey-licensed law firms and individual practitioners to provide special counsel services for all workers' compensation matters involving the Authority and its employees. Services include legal representation, advice, litigation support, settlement assistance, motions, appeals, coordination with the Authority's claims manager and third-party administrator, reporting, and related counsel services. The Authority may qualify one or more firms and assign matters based on qualifications and appropriateness. Responses must address firm and attorney qualifications, workers' compensation and governmental-entity experience, proposed staffing and approach, references, conflicts, financial capacity, insurance, and required legal and administrative certifications. The response may not exceed 25 pages excluding exhibits. The resulting agreement is stated to run through August 12, 2028, with hourly rates of $250 for partners or equivalents, $200 for associates, and $125 for legal assistants or paralegals. Professional liability insurance of at least $10 million and cyber liability insurance of at least $10 million are required; other specified coverages include commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation/employers' liability insurance.
